Yaakov Zada Daniel
Forged Strong
Through Limor Garfinkle’s lens, we celebrate heroes like Yaakov Zada Daniel, an acclaimed Israeli actor whose powerful performances have brought complex Israeli stories to audiences around the world. Known for roles in Fauda, Hostages, Ghosts of Beirut, and Carthago, Yaakov has built
a reputation for portraying characters of remarkable depth and authenticity.
His own story is just as extraordinary. Raised as an orphan in Arad’s SOS Children’s Village overlooking the Negev, Yaakov went on to serve as a lone soldier in Shayetet 13, Israel’s elite naval commando unit, before joining the Duvdevan counter-terrorism unit. His military experience later informed his portrayal of “Eli” in Fauda.
Today, Yaakov uses his platform to give back, serving as a Goodwill Ambassador for SOS Children’s Villages and supporting organizations helping soldiers struggling with PTSD. His journey from adversity to achievement is a testament to the strength we can build through hardship—and the difference we can make when we use that strength to lift others.
About the Heroes SeriesAmerican Friends of Soroka and Photographer Limor Garfinkle present Heroes of Truth: Portraits of Courage celebrating courage and resilience, honoring those who stand in defense of Israel and truth.
Through art, we pay tribute to these heroes and inspire others to stand firm against hatred and injustice. One hundred percent of profits will directly support Soroka’s Department of Psychiatry, offering critical mental health programs for pediatric and adult patients suffering from PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Beyond raising funds, Heroes of Truth aims to inspire action. By showcasing the bravery of those who refuse to stay silent, we send a powerful message: courage and truth will always triumph over silence and oppression.
