Through Limor Garfinkle’s lens, we celebrate heroes like Simon Aban Deng, a human rights activist. From escaping enslavement in Sudan to leading the Sudan Freedom Walk, Simon has dedicated his life to fighting against modern-day slavery, genocide, and injustice. He is also the co-founder of the African-Jewish Alliance, working to strengthen the historic bond between African and Jewish communities. In the wake of October 7, he traveled to Israel, standing in solidarity with the Jewish people, marching from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and meeting with victims’ families. His unwavering advocacy reminds us all of the power of resilience and moral courage.
